Why The Starks Will Always Get Betrayed

The Stark men have a grim history of betrayal. Ned Stark by Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger). Robb Stark by Roose Bolton and Walder Frey. And Jon Snow by his Nightswatch brothers. Jon Snow got lucky with the resurrection, but his leadership abilities are still dismal.

This isn’t by accident. In fact, I blame Ned because all of the Stark men (including Jon Snow) share some of his flaws which make them doomed as leaders. They try to be good men, to do what’s right, but in the end they fail – this video will cover exactly how and what we can learn from them.

1. Ask: What do you know about the people around you, and what does that tell you about their motives?
2. Ignore what people say. You must look to their past actions to determine what they’ll do in the future.
3. To motivate people, align their interests with your own
4. Make sure the people on your team know the strategy, not just the tactics
5. A good leader repeats the mission and makes sure that people understand why things have to be done
6. Paint a vivid picture of what they stand to gain AND what they stand to lose
